Details
This is the official 3D CAD library for DesignSpark! Whether you use the most sophisticated 3D modelling suites, or you dabble with Google Sketchup, you can download the 3D model you want in the native file format you need. No converting, no verifying, no payment required! Just download, import into your design, and go!
With thousands of models available, the models are provided directly from some of today's most important manufacturers, and include technologies as varied as connectors, optoelectronics, bearings and pneumatics.
Click on the logo to go to the library. This will open up a new window, where you can view all of the available models. You will have to register to download your first model, but this is a simple, one-off process, and you can come back any time to download more models.
New models, technologies and manufacturers are being added all the time - we'll keep you up to date as soon as they become available.

What model file format is compatible with Designspark? There's quite a lot of options available and tried DWG and DXF but neither worked when I tried to import into Designspark.

As far as I can see, there is no 3D format that can be "imported".
Did you want to associate a 3d model from the RS website with a component in DS-PCB, so that you could render you board realistically and output a model into a 3rd party app for say, enclosure design?
