230Vac pulsing

Svend Clausen

Denmark

Hi,

I am trying to find at cheap (very low cost) but solid solution for switching short pulses with the 230Vac power line. (For circuit design on PCB, no module).

If the 230Vac power line is silent it must be able to puls on it. If the 230Vac power line allready is "switched on" it must resist without damage.

The switching puls are about 5 to 10ms.

Kind regards

Svend

Hi Svend!

Have a look at the MOC3041/2/3 datasheet's family. These are zero-cross optoisolator triac drivers. Followed by a triac meeting your current/voltage requirements (easy to find), you should be able to design a small circuit at very low cost. Walk around application notes to discover other solutions?

Kind regards,

Hi Svend, Have you considered a solid-state relay? RS has them available in a 2A version for about 48DKR.
