DesignSpark PCB: Going metric?

nigelmercier

Having previously used EAGLE, I've been struggling on with imperial measurements as EAGLE doesn't like using anything other than 0.1" grid for the schematic.

I'd much rather convert all my designs and libraries to metric. Assuming I use 2.54mm instead of 0.1" for example, are there any pitfalls in doing this?

hi nigelmercier,

No pitfalls at all! I do prefer metric too and can confirm no problems with DSPCB when you use just metric.

So do you put the grids on mm, or an imperial equivalent?

[LATER] I've just gone through the Technology file for my current design, and have changed the units to metric and changed all the data to sensible numbers. However, when I edit each component, none of the styles are changed. How do I propagate these changes to the library?
