How do I create a non-homogenous component?

MarkHosey

I want to create my own library of components where multi gate components may use two or more different symbols (non-homogeneous) rather than all gates being the same (homogeneous). For instance an LM358 op-amp will have two gates, one using a five pin symbol -i/p (pin2), +i/p (pin3), o/p (pin1), Vcc (pin8) and Vss (Pin4) and the second gate using a three pin symbol -i/p (pin6), +i/p (pin5), o/p (pin7).

Can this type of thing be acheived in DesignSpark and if so how?

Thanks in advance for any help and advice.

This is possible, the process to do that is like any other part library creation. You need two or more electrical drawings, in your case one op amp with 5 pins and other with 3 pins. Then you neeed a footprint from any library available or your own one. Finally you have to create a new component and add to this one the gates you want and the foot print. Connect electrical parts pins to footprint pins and you have what you want.
