How to install DS3 on a computer not connected to internet

Hello,

I am working in a society with a strong policy about the computers and I can have acces to internet using one computer but it is not the one where I can install somethink.

So I can install what I want on an other computer but this one is not connected to the net.

I have downloaded DS3 and installed it the second computer.

Now, when I start DS3, I have a window that says :

"ERROR:The program cannot find the support data file, or have a problem downloading it from its current adress"

And, even if I click on OK or CANCEL, I am not able to open DS3 to get his serial number and register it.

Is it somethink known?

Is there any turn arround?

Best regards.

Hello Philou!

Another RS designer met the same problem. Here follows a little bit more detailed copy of my answer, posted a few days ago. Didn't you see it?

“I have found the solution to your problem. Here is how I proceeded.

I completely uninstalled DS 3.0 and removed my wifi key to make sure to be offline. I used “Search” (in the Start Menu) to find and remove any undeleted files. I also ran Ccleaner and Tweak Now Power Pack (free ads for free software) to clean some residual registry's keys. I reinstalled DS, selecting my second partition (all my programs are installed outside Win XP's partition, for clarity purposes), and asked the program to install data files in the same folder -as usual, to keep every similar things together.

Well.

Here is the trick, now.

When you receive the dialog box asking to connect to http://designspark.eu/data, if you click OK, the next screen shows you that the software is searching for the file "support.txt". I did the same thing, with "Search" of XP. And I was surprised to discover that...

THIS FILE IS ALREADY PRESENT IN DS, IN ITS OWN DIRECTORY!

I restarted the program, and copied “D:\designspark pcb” as location for downloading support.txt.

And it was OK!

I met however a little problem: as it was a new copy of DS's installation file, the serial number had changed. I reconnected my wifi, asked for a new code, disconnected my wifi again, restarted DS, and pasted my new activation code.

And DS is running as before...”

Kind regards,

B.B.
