Can't add nets to schematic

Avatar Posted by chiwheels at

I have moved from version 3 to version 4 and am starting a new design. All went well until I tried to add my first net; I got the error message "Unable to add net as there are not net classes assigned to this design". Version 3 creates a design with defaults to allow schematic entry straight away but version 4 needs some setup first.

I tried looking in Settings -> Preferences and although there was an option to set the technologies directory, I am not sure as to where I set the technology file for defining net classes before I can start schematic entry.

Hi, when you go New>Schematic design, make sure that a tickbox is selected for 'use technology file' and set to default (or other). This tickbox is selected by default in Version 4, it is in Version 3 where it was de-selected by default and we have fixed it. It is strange you experience an opposite behaviour. Please let us know if any problems
