Two layers copper pouring.

Avatar Posted by synertronik at

    Hey guys,
Can anyone tell me how to apply copper pour on two sides in a two layers board?

    Best Regards,

    Sandy.

Not tried it, but I imagine you draw the outlines as normal, and select which layer they are in. No?

      HI,
Add Copper pour area and than with "L" button you can switch from top to bottom layer!
As you do for the track.

I am having great trouble doing the copper pouring on both layers. I am using v4 and I can see that "L" toggles between the top and bottom layers but this does not seem to help in pouring the copper on the second layer. No matter how I do it only the top layer gets poured. Is there some trick that I am missing?

I find the easiest way is to first create the shape you wish to fill, take a square for this example.

      1. Draw the outline of the square as a closed shape
      2. Move the outline to which layer you wish to copper pour (right click > properties)
      3. Whilst in properties set the shape to 'filled' (tick box near the top)
      4. Select the now filled shape, right click and copper pour
      5. Select the net you wish the pour to be.

      Job done.

That is my personal preferred method as I find that way it's very easy to create intricate shapes for the pour area(s)

      Hope that helps
