Hi feet4me, now with ModelSource it is pretty straight forward. Here is how I did it:
1. go to RS-online rswww.com and search for sop14 2. pick the first result: http://uk.rs-online.com/web/p/dc-dc-con ... s/0423056/ 3. copy the RS part number 423-056 4. go to DSPCB V4 ModelSource panel and perform quick search for 423-056 (we got a match right away but it really is a try-repeat until you get a part with library) 5. dowonload the component by clicking 'Use Component' 6. This IC happens to belong to DC-DC controllers family and this is the name of the library you need to find in Library Manager PCB symbols tab 7. You will find 3 variations of the sop14 footprint named: PW14, PW14-L, PW14-M. Choose the one that suits you best 8. Copy the selected footprint to User libraries, I suggest giving it a different name i.e. PW14_user
Of course then you need to go through creating component with thta footprint. If you know the MPN you require the sop14 footprint for it is easier to just find it via quick search in ModelSource interface and use the ready made component.
