      Anyone?
Really stuck now, pls help. Cant use the software at all. If i click on file the designspark website opens. Infact anywhere I click. Also the only way to close it is via task manager.

It seems others are having this problem also!

      Hi All,

The problem you are experiencing is currently under our radar. To resolve it you need to hit ALT+F4 after which you can start using DSPCB as normal.

Explanation: on startup DSPCB is displaying a separate window with an advertisement banner (at the moment pointing at RS-onlibe website, but changes periosdically). We found that a handful of users do not get this advert displayed properly, instead it becomes transparent and covers the entire DSPCB window. This is why it looks like anywhere you click it takes you to our website. ALT+F4 closes the 'invisible' advert window and you can start using the software. Please note that we do not display adverts at any other time than startup so this issue will not interrupt your work in any way. Resolving this problem proves difficult because we have not managed to reproduce it so far. Any information you supply would be helpful. Is there anything different abuyt your Windows setup or are you using any specific software packages like Ad-Blocker of some sort?

      Thank you

      Mike

I have this as well. I am running dual screens on Windows 7 Professional with Norton Antivirus. I also have Spybot running and Malwarebytes installed. Nothing else unusual about my system as far as I know.

Here is the relevent information on my system:
Dell Vostro 220 Series, running Windows 7 Professional, version 6.1.7601, SP1.
NVIDIA GeForce 310, display driver version 8.16.11.9104
Monitor driver is Dell S2009W(Digital), version 1.0.0.0
      CPU is Core2Duo E7500

      Hope this helps.

Just an update. I've found that if I have 'Disable Desktop Composition' checked in the program compatibility settings, I can then at least see the 'invisible' window that is causing the problem. (ie. Right-click the desktop shortcut, properties, compatibilty tab, 'disable desktop composition' checked).

The phantom window fills the entire screen, and much more. It does have a bar at the top, so you can move the window around, or right click and close it - this may help if Alt-F4 is not working. The window is more than 20 times larger than my display (set to 1600 x 900 resolution)!

Another update! Problem solved (I think!)

I tried 'Run the program as Administrator', and something very interesting happened.

The first time I did this, the program failed to open the files that were previously open.
But - I was able to re-open the files with no issues.

The advertisement window is now displayed correctly every time, even when the program is opened normally (not as administrator).
And - I do not need 'disable desktop composition' checked any more.

So - running the program as administrator (just once) seems to have premanently fixed the issue.
Except I'm not sure what will happen when the advertisment is updated...?

      Hi otisman37,

Thanks for posting your findings, I will ask couple of users to try it on their side, you might have just cracked it for them! Cheers
