GC-Prevue Gerber Viewer
詳細
![]()
Provided free of charge, GC-Prevue is the industry standard software for viewing and printing electronic manufacturing data. GC-Prevue reads all of the common CAD generated electronic manufacturing outputs, including Gerber-X (RS-274X), Gerber-D (RS-274D), DPF (Barco), Excellon, Sieb & Meyer, HPGL, and HPGL2. Since it's original release in 1987, GraphiCode has steadily improved GC-Prevue, thanks to its use by tens of thousands in the PCB industry.

I still think GC-Prevue is a handy tool for people looking to view their pcb gerber files... Nice post!
Just another tool to make sure everything is good to go before fab!

Although GC-Prevue is a great program for viewing Gerber & drill data, you really don't need to install a Gerber viewer on you PC anymore. There are at least three online Gerber viewers now: CircuitPeople, Online Gerber Viewer by Schindler & Schill GmbH & Paragon Robotics. Some of them offer high resolution prints of each layer you can download to your PC.
The above viewers and links to probably every other Gerber viewer & editor out there can be found on the EverythingPCB web page at this link: www.everythingpcb.com/p17596.htm
There are also a number of free DFM/DRC programs offered online from PCB manufacturers that will check your Gerber files and give you a report of any problems via e-mail with screen shots and explanations of the errors. Advanced Circuits (www.4pcb.com) is one of them, but I'm sure there are others.

People that do not check their Gerber and NC files before sending them for manufacture are asking for trouble. Mistakes happen - checking is how we prevent them becoming a problem.
Check your data, compare it to the PCB that you just made, colour it the same, display it the same way around. Superb free software like this always helps.
It's a No Brainer! - Go for it.

I always check my Gerber and Drill files in GCprevue before sending them off for fab just to make sure that everything is coming out properly and in the same scale.
It is a good confidence check, should only takes a few minutes and potentially can save a lot of hassle later on.
Highly recommend.

Blimey, I think that makes me an early adopter then.
That brought back some memories.
