M24LR64

Imagine you enjoy the flexibility to remotely change application parameters and calibration data, store traceability information, update application codes or even activate electronics devices or equipment, anytime during their lifetime, anywhere in the supply chain or at the end user...

The innovative EEPROM M24LR64 with a dual interface I2C/RFID from ST makes it happen! It can be accessed either from a wired I2C interface or from an industry–standard ISO 15693 RF interface which does not require any on-board power to operate. This enables on-board energy savings and provides easy and convenient remote access to electronic product parameters.

Key Features and benefits

·         I2C interface

Industry standard: compatible with most microcontrollers and ASICs

1.8 to 5.5 V: wide operating voltage range enabling large spectrum of applications

400 kHz across the entire voltage range

·         ISO 15693  RF Interface

Industry standard: compatible with ISO 15693 readers

Passive RFID Technology: no energy needed to operate in RF mode

·         Memory

User memory: 64 Kbits of EEPROM

Reliability: 40 years data retention, 1 million erase-write cycles

Data protection: unique and flexible 32-bit password protection scheme

Two worlds are now connected: the new dual-interface product line provides a link between the operation of electronic devices and the RFID world, thus enabling new types of products, including those requiring asset tracking, data collection, diagnostics, or traceability. A good fit for application such as medical and industrial equipment, factory and building automation, computers and peripherals, consumer electronics. This pioneering technology will provide tremendous added-value to new products, also reducing manufacturing costs, simplifying inventory management and responding more quickly to changing market demands.
