The C2000™ controlCARDs are the latest tools for TMS320C2000 MCUs and feature a C2000 processor and all necessary support devices on one daughter card, requiring only one +5V supply to be fully functional. The kit is extremely easy to use straight out of the box.
The instructions provided are simple and clear.
The hardware set-up is quick and easy: fit the development board in the docking station, and connect this to the workstation using the supplied USB cable.
The software is easily installed. The box comes with a CD containing Code Composer Studio, whereas the software for the board can be downloaded from the TI website, along with a lot of useful material including schematics, BOM, Gerber files, PCB files, and a demo project to test the board and get started.
The kit comes with simple and clear instructions on how to set-up the hardware, and how to download and install the software.
Further documentation can be downloaded from the TI website, along with many useful files.
Some tests were performed and all the tested features were as expected.
The hardware and software provided make it very easy to test the capabilities of the microcontroller.
Step-to-step instructions make the process very quick and easy, and in very short time users can get started to develop their own applications.
The software development tools are very user-friendly and straight forward, also for non-experienced users.
The kit comes with a Demo project file that makes one of the LEDs on the board blink: this can be made to work in just few minutes.
The tools come with detailed yet clear documentation. Online resources and demos can greatly help the user further.
The kit is a perfect tool to easily test the functionalities of the microcontroller, and to develop both simple and advanced applications. Definitely recommended.

I am a novice to programing in the new High Level languages (C C++), however when I connected 2 of these experimenter kits together, and used the trial version of VisSim (Maplesoft), it took approximately 1 hour from out of the box to get these 2 units configured as Master / Slave with comms using the on board CAN interface, allowing me to create a remote joystick controlled Dolly for HD broadcast camera work. I did not even write a single piece of code as VisSim generates and flash's all in one go. A very big thumbs up to TI!
